Pupils in Year 5 have the opportunity to become playground buddies.

Wearing distinctive yellow caps, they support the welfare staff in the KS1 playgrounds every lunchtime and demonstrate positive social skills through their behaviour and interaction. They set up and manage team games, encouraging the younger children to take turns and follow the game rules.

This also has the benefit of helping the older children who sometimes struggle to make friends, develop relationships with their fellow buddies and encourage friendships in the older year groups, massively increasing the confidence of those children too.
