End of KS2 Progress Scores
Progress measures are scores centred around 0.
A score of 0 means pupils, on average, do about as well at the end of KS2 as those with similar prior attainment, (end of KS1 assessment), nationally.
A positive score means pupils, on average, do better at the end of KS2 as those with similar prior attainment, (end of KS1 assessment), nationally.
A negative score means pupils in this school on average do worse at the end of KS2 as those with similar prior attainment, (end of KS1 assessment), nationally. A negative score does not mean that pupils did not make any progress, rather it means they made less progress than other pupils nationally with similar starting points
Scaled Score
For reading and mathematics, key stage 2 test results have been reported as scaled scores, with 100 as the ‘expected standard’. An average scaled score for the school is then calculated.
