Home Learning with Moorside

Our Home Learning Strategy aims to ensure consistency in the approach to remote learning, so pupils who are not in school receive the planned curriculum.

Set out are expectations for all members of the school community with regards to remote learning and provided are appropriate guidelines for data protection.

Everyone within the school community has a responsibility to support the remote learning of our pupils, should they be required to learn from home. We will be relying on a collaborative approach to supporting children in these circumstances.

Home Learning - Class App

Whilst Seesaw was already a part of our day to day school life, in March 2020, we commenced home-learning via the Seesaw Class App following the pandemic. This was a great success and we encourage all families to download the app.

In the event that children should need to isolate, we experience further whole year group/ class bubbles closures or indeed we endure another lockdown due to COVID or other unforseeble reasons, we will distribute work via the Class App to enable your child to continue to learn from home.

Under the Links and Downloads section, you will find some helpful 'how to videos' to help you throughout the home learning journey.

Should you require new home learning codes, please feel free to contact the office.

Thank you for your support, as always.

As some of you are aware, we have been working towards offering some live sessions for our children. We are now at the point now where we are ready to implement this.

Please ensure you read through the 'Acceptable Usage Policy', which you are required to read and share with your children before engaging in the live sessions. By joining the sessions you are providing your consent, whilst also agreeing to the content of the acceptable usage policy. This is an opt out approach, if you do not agree, then simply please do not join the live session when the information is sent out.

These sessions will be delivered via Microsoft Teams. Each child has an individual email and a password which will be communicated by the class teacher (via direct message on seesaw) in due course. These will be sent with accompanying guidance should you require it. Once your child has logged on, they will have a calendar invite to enable them to join the session. Again, guidance will be sent out for those who require it. All sessions will be recorded and saved. These sessions are not for live ‘teaching’ and all lesson will continue on seesaw as they have been.

Thank you in advance for your support with this. If successful, these live sessions will enable children to see their friends and have a social check in with their teachers. I am sure that there will be some technical hitches during the first few sessions, but we will iron them out together.

For guidance please see the Links & Downloads section.
